If you’ve been keeping up with the blog you’ll have noticed our coverage on Toyota’s story on cooling the electronic components of their hybrid cars. This article was featured as a cover story in IEEE Spectrum’s Multiphysics Simulation insert, as well as in COMSOL News. Now we are thrilled to announce that the Principal Scientist at Toyota Research Institute of North America is going to be speaking at the COMSOL Conference in Boston this October.

Do you drive a hybrid car or full EV? If not, chances are you at least know someone who does. Boasting little to zero need for gas and with an eco-friendly cache, it’s no wonder hybrid cars are so popular. As consumer interest in hybrid vehicles is not going away, car companies need to keep improving their technology of these types of cars. But what needs to be improved, and how? This is what Dr. Ercan Dede, Principal Scientist at Toyota Research Institute of North America is going to speak about at our multiphysics event in Boston this fall. (Hint: multiphysics modeling is a key player.)

What is the Toyota Research Institute, N.A.?

Established in 2008, Toyota Research Institute of North America (TRI-NA) is a division of Toyota Technical Center (TTC). The TRI-NA focus is to conduct advanced research on energy and environment, safety, and mobility infrastructure, as part of Toyota’s “Sustainable Mobility” pursuit. “Sustainable Mobility” prioritizes advanced technologies, urban environment, energy, and Toyota partnerships with government and academia.
