COMSOL Trademark Guidelines

These guidelines address how you should properly use trademarks when referring to us, our products, and/or the products we interface to or include with our products. You may use our trademarks in order to refer to us or our products and services, if you follow these guidelines.

When using our registered trademarks, you must use the ® designation immediately following the trademark. For example: COMSOL®. When using a registered trademark of ours, you must include a statement indicating that this trademark is a registered trademark of ours. For example: “COMSOL® is a registered trademark of COMSOL AB.” A list of our registered trademarks is set forth below.

When using our unregistered trademarks, you must use the ™ designation immediately following the trademark. For example: LiveLink™. When using an unregistered trademark of ours, you must include a statement indicating that this trademark is a trademark of ours. For example: “LiveLink™ is a trademark of COMSOL AB.” A list of our unregistered trademarks is set forth below.

When referring to products that we interface to or include with our products, you must follow the same format set forth above for registered and unregistered trademarks. For example, LiveLink™ for SpaceClaim®. When using a trademark of another company whose products we interface to or include with our products, you must indicate the owner of that trademark in an accompanying statement. For example: “LiveLink™ is a trademark of COMSOL AB. SpaceClaim® is a registered trademark of SpaceClaim Corporation.” As in the previous example, our trademarks should be clearly differentiated from those of any companies whose products we interface with. A list of trademarks owned by companies whose products we interface with is set forth below.

You may not use any of our logos or design marks without prior written permission from us, and you may not create any other logo or design feature incorporating our trademarks. Our trademarks must be used solely to refer to a type of product that is offered under that mark and not as a name for a genus of product. For example: “COMSOL Multiphysics® simulation software.” As in the previous example, you must preserve any distinctive lettering, capitalization, or other features that we include in our trademarks. Our trademarks must not be abbreviated, hyphenated, turned into a possessive form, or used in the plural form.

Publication titles may not incorporate any of our trademarks without a license, except as follows: You may use our trademarks in the title of a single issue book or a serial publication if you (1) comply with all of the guidelines set forth above, (2) include a statement that you are not affiliated with COMSOL AB and that COMSOL AB has not authorized, sponsored, or approved your book and is not otherwise connected to your book, (3) for serial publications, you must not make any of our trademarks the leading or dominant component of the title (for example, ABC Magazine for COMSOL Multiphysics®).
