How can i embed a 2D object into 3D

Hello,

I have a cylindrical block and wanrt to insert a flat contact on top.

so i created the flat contact in workplanes, but i cant find the way to embed it into the 3D feature.

Any help.

you should do all your work in 3D if you are going to make a 3D geomtery. but you want to make 2D in your 3D work plane. then you extrude with zero distance your 2D geometry.
