Transient Initialization

hi,

what is transient initialization ? Is it necessary for all the time dependent problems ?

or it should be used just for multiphysics time dependent problems ?

foe example in level set method, the transient initialization equation does not consist the velocity field, but the time dependent of that has velocity field.

Before you can solve the two equations (that contain the velocity field) you need to initialize the level set function so that that it will vary smoothly from zero to one across the interface you specified. That is what the transient initialization will do.
