Comsol with 2 CPU instead of using GPU

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi! I am awared that comsol does not support GPU acceleration as stated before: https://www.comsol.com/forum/thread/250801/gpu-support?last=2020-02-03T13:32:52Z

However, I am planning to acquire a new PC with two Intel Xeon CPU instead of one with GPU to perform CFD simulations. My question is if I am going to be able to take full advantage of these two CPU when using Comsol or if it is not possible to do so.

What are your recomendations?

Greetings.

Hello Eddy,

Yes, you will. All license types can take advantage of multiple CPUs on the same machine (shared memory parallelism). Only network licenses can take advantage of clusters (distributed memory parallelism).

Best,

Jeff
