Plotting particle variables on a 2D surface

Hi,

Is there a way to map particle variables, such auxiliary dependent variables along particle lines to the initial particle release position on the mesh, so that one can create a 2D surface plot of these particle variables at different times?

The attached plot shows release positions of particles (computed with Electrostatics and Charged Particle Tracing) and the final value of the auxiliary dependent variable rp which is an integral along each particle traces (plotted with at('last', rp) in a Particle Trajectories plot at time = 0 ). Is it possible to map the particle variable rp to the mesh release positions and make a 2D surface plot?
