The Application Gallery features COMSOL Multiphysics® tutorial and demo app files pertinent to the electrical, structural, acoustics, fluid, heat, and chemical disciplines. You can use these examples as a starting point for your own simulation work by downloading the tutorial model or demo app file and its accompanying instructions.

Search for tutorials and apps relevant to your area of expertise via the Quick Search feature. To download the MPH-files, log in or create a COMSOL Access account that is associated with a valid COMSOL license. Note that many of the examples featured here can also be accessed via the Application Libraries that are built into the COMSOL Multiphysics® software and available from the File menu.

Electrical Heating in a Busbar

This tutorial model of the Joule heating effect in a busbar demonstrates how to synchronize an assembly between Solid Edge and COMSOL, how to modify the geometry from COMSOL, and how to run a geometric parametric sweep. Read More

Corrosion Protection of Multiple Oil Platforms

This example extends the corrosion protection system analysis of the single oil platform example by modeling the influence of multiple oil platforms placed in an array. The use of the Current Distribution on Edges, BEM interface significantly reduces the problem size and computational ... Read More

Geometric Parameter Optimization of a Tuning Fork

This model computes the fundamental eigenfrequency and eigenmode for a tuning fork that is synchronized from Solid Edge via the LiveLink interface. The length of the fork is then optimized so that the tuning fork sounds the note A, 440 Hz. Read More

Sensitive High-Resolution Ion Microprobe

This tutorial utilizes the Particle Beam feature to examine the performance of a high-precision spectrometer. An ion beam is subjected to electric and magnetic forces, and only a fraction of the incoming beam is transmitted to the detector. The Particle Counter feature is used to compute ... Read More

Modeling a Koch Snowflake

This example exemplifies how to model a Koch snowflake using the Application Builder. A more detailed description of the phenomenon and the modeling process can be seen in the blog post "[Using the Application Builder to Create a Koch Snowflake](https://www.comsol.com/blogs/using-the-application-builder-to-create-a-koch-snowflake/) ... Rössler Attractor

A Rossler attractor is a system of three non-linear, ordinary differential equations. The Rossler attractor is similar in nature to the Lorenz attractor. The non-linear equations can be solved in COMSOL by conveniently using the Massless formulation available in the Mathematical Particle ... Read More

Electrical Heating in a Busbar Assembly

This tutorial model of the Joule heating effect in a busbar demonstrates how to synchronize an assembly between Inventor and COMSOL, how to modify the geometry from COMSOL, and how to run a geometric parametric sweep. Read More

Lombardi Surface Mobility

Surface acoustic phonons and surface roughness have an important effect on the carrier mobility, especially in the thin inversion layer under the gate in MOSFETs. The Lombardi surface mobility model adds surface scattering resulting from these effects to an existing mobility model using ... Read More

Electrical Heating in a Busbar Assembly

This tutorial model of the Joule heating effect in a busbar demonstrates how to synchronize an assembly between Creo Parametric and COMSOL, how to modify the geometry from COMSOL, and how to run a geometric parametric sweep. Read More

Quasi-2D Turbomolecular Pump

The Monte Carlo simulation of flow in a turbomolecular pump can be greatly simplified if the mean radius of the blades is much greater than the spacing between them. Under these conditions, the rotating blades of the pump can be approximated as an infinite row of blades having only ... Read More
