Video tutorial showing a study of the frequency response of a tonpilz piezo transducer in COMSOL Multiphysics. The model exhibits full multiphysics coupling between structural and piezoelectric materials in the transducer. Additionally, it couples structural vibrations with acoustics, enabling you to model sound waves generated in water surrounding the transducer. The resulting model depicts: the device’s deformation and stresses, radiated pressure field and sound pressure level, spatial far-field sensitivity, the transducer’s transmitting voltage response curve, and directivity index of the sound beam.
