How to simulate a particle source with given energy distribution

Hello,

I am trying to simulate particle distributions in electric and magnetic fields, and experiencing some difficulties setting up my particle source. My question is how can I set a source of particles with a Maxwell distribution of energy spectrum？And suppose I have a file with a list of initial poisitions and velocities of particles. Is there a way to use the values in that file as the inlet for the particle tracking?
